Mayor Karachi Addresses Wall Collapse and Rain-Related Emergencies in Moach Goth Baldia

Karachi: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab expressed sorrow over a wall collapse incident in Moach Goth Baldia, deeming the event tragic with significant loss of life and property. He instructed immediate medical treatment for the injured and pledged support to affected families.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the Mayor noted that teams from Anti-Encroachment, Municipal Services, City Wardens, and Urban Rescue are actively addressing fallen trees and other issues, focusing on rainwater drainage and traffic flow restoration.

Mayor Wahab toured several city areas, including Shahrah-e-Faisal and I.I. Chundrigar Road, inspecting drainage efforts. Accompanied by senior officials, he emphasized clearing water accumulation promptly.

In anticipation of further rainfall, a rain emergency has been declared. The Mayor directed departments to remain alert, with the Parks Department tasked with removing fallen trees to ensure traffic flow, and the Water Corporation engaged in drainage efforts.

He advised residents to exercise caution around electric installations, limit travel, and follow safety precautions. The emergency cell is operational, and citizens are encouraged to use the helpline for any issues. Staff and equipment are deployed citywide, ready to respond to emergencies.
