Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia has pledged its full backing to Pakistan’s initiatives aimed at resolving the conflict in the Middle East. This assurance was conveyed by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim during a telephonic conversation with his Pakistani counterpart, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Ibrahim for Malaysia’s strong endorsement of Pakistan’s mediation efforts. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to de-escalating tensions in the region and briefed the Malaysian leader on the latest diplomatic endeavors, including discussions with leaders from Gulf countries and Iran, to facilitate dialogue between the U.S. and Iran.

Prime Minister Ibrahim, in turn, praised Prime Minister Sharif’s leadership and shared insights from his dialogues with global leaders, emphasizing the urgency to halt hostilities in the Middle East. The conversation also included exchanges of Eid-ul-Fitr greetings, with both leaders expressing hopes for the unity and progress of the Muslim community. They agreed to maintain ongoing communication.
