ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, has hailed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement involving Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye as a significant diplomatic and defense achievement for Pakistan. This trilateral agreement is seen as a pivotal development in fostering unity, trust, and collective security among the three nations.

According to Radio Pakistan, Chaudhry emphasized that the agreement signifies a new phase of cooperation among Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The leaders’ decision is expected to pave the way for enhanced peace and stability. Chaudhry credited the successful formation of the agreement to the efforts and leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

The agreement stipulates that an armed attack on any member nation will be considered an attack on all, thereby ensuring mutual support in times of crisis. Chaudhry highlighted the collaborative strengths of the member countries, noting Saudi Arabia’s economic power, Türkiye’s defense technology, and Pakistan’s military expertise as key components in establishing a robust security foundation. He further stated that the agreement’s benefits would extend beyond the region, fostering global peace and cooperation.
