Riyadh: In a significant development during the Emergency Meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee (S-PDC) in Riyadh, high-ranking officials from Pakistan, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff & Chief of Defence Forces, participated in discussions focused on regional security and cooperation.
According to Press Information Department, the meeting resulted in the endorsement of Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood (Retired), recipient of the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military), as the inaugural Secretary-General of the Makkah Alliance for Defence. The committee also issued a strong condemnation of attempts to target the Holy Cities of Makkah and Medina and ongoing attacks against Saudi Arabia.
The meeting facilitated an exchange of views on recent regional developments, with attendees reaffirming their commitment to collaborate closely in pursuit of regional peace and stability. Pakistan emphasized its unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia, pledging full support for the Kingdom’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security. The nation reiterated its dedication to contributing to enduring peace and stability in the region.
