RAWALPINDI: The funeral prayer of Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain Shaheed was held at Chaklala Garrison in Rawalpindi, following his martyrdom during an operation in Balochistan. The operation targeted Indian-sponsored terrorists, and Lt. Col. Hussain succumbed to injuries sustained while leading his team.
According to Inter Services Public Relations, the funeral was attended by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and other senior civil and military officials. The gathering also included Federal Ministers of Interior and Information, as well as numerous citizens and family members.
Prime Minister Sharif paid tribute to Lt. Col. Hussain, acknowledging his bravery and dedication to national defense. He emphasized the Armed Forces’ resolve, supported by the nation, to eliminate terrorism and its supporters within Pakistan. The Prime Minister highlighted that the sacrifices of martyrs like Lt. Col. Hussain fortify the country’s commitment to peace and sovereignty.
Lt. Col. Hussain will be buried with full military honors in his hometown. The Armed Forces and citizens of Pakistan express deep condolences to his family and commemorate his sacrifice.
