Islamabad: Lawmakers in Pakistan paid tribute to Senator Taj Haider, a member of the Senate of Pakistan, who passed away last Tuesday. During a session in the Senate, leaders from various political parties recognized his lifelong dedication to democracy and his advocacy for marginalized communities.

Sherry Rehman, a senior member of the Pakistan People’s Party, opened the debate by highlighting Taj Haider’s profound impact on the country’s political landscape. She noted his roles as a patriot, writer, and ideological leader, emphasizing that his efforts for democracy would be long remembered.

Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar extended condolences on behalf of the government and treasury benches. He described Taj Haider as a paragon of loyalty and selflessness, whose contributions to democratic causes would endure in the nation’s memory.

Syed Shibli Faraz reflected on Taj Haider’s multifaceted personality, acknowledging him as a source of guidance and wisdom. Meanwhile, Hamid Khan praised the late senator’s independent thought and commitment to upholding constitutional rights.

Kamran Murtaza remarked on Taj Haider’s noble character, considering his passing a significant loss for the nation.

The Senate session began with a prayer for Taj Haider and others who had recently passed away, including ex-Senator Professor Khurshid Ahmad and victims of various tragic events.
