ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly convened today at the Parliament House under the leadership of Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, where lawmakers paid tribute to the late Member of the National Assembly, Mehmood Bashir Virk, honoring his role in advancing democracy and legislative efforts.
According to Radio Pakistan, the session began with the oath-taking of Munir Iqbal Channar as a Member of the National Assembly, following his election in the NA-168 Bahawalpur by-election. During the session, the House observed Fateha for several departed souls, including the late MNA Mehmood Bashir Virk, as well as members of the security forces and law enforcement agencies.
Lawmakers expressed their respects for Virk’s contributions and prayed for his eternal peace. They also offered prayers for strength and courage for his bereaved family. The National Assembly is scheduled to reconvene tomorrow at 11 a.m.
