Lahore: SSP Riffat Bukhari of the Punjab Police has been recognized globally for her exceptional contributions to law enforcement, receiving the prestigious Excellence in Performance Award from the International Association of Women Police. The accolade was presented during the 61st Annual Conference in Chicago, USA, marking a significant achievement not only for her but for Pakistan’s policing community.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab announcement issued on 10 September 2024, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, personally congratulated SSP Bukhari at the Central Police Office in Lahore, where he also presented her with a commemorative shield on behalf of the department. During the ceremony, Dr. Anwar lauded SSP Bukhari’s international recognition as a testament to her outstanding service and dedication to public safety, highlighting her role as an inspiration for female officers within the force.
SSP Bukhari’s award recognizes her innovative work in areas critical to modern policing, including women’s protection, the use of artificial intelligence in law enforcement, intelligent traffic management, and the development of advanced road safety mechanisms.
