Key Member of Gang Involved in Motorcycle Thefts Arrested in Islamabad


Islamabad: A significant breakthrough has been made in the ongoing efforts to combat motorcycle theft in the federal capital, as Islamabad Police announced the arrest of a key member of a notorious gang involved in numerous theft incidents.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrest was part of a comprehensive crackdown on criminal activities across the city. The Shalimar police team, employing advanced technical and human intelligence resources, apprehended the suspect, identified as Imran, and recovered three stolen motorcycles from his possession. Multiple criminal cases have been registered against him, and during initial questioning, Imran confessed to several thefts in the Shalimar police station area and nearby localities.



Senior Superintendent of Police Operations, Qazi Ali Raza, emphasized the police’s commitment to taking strong actions against individuals involved in motorcycle theft and street crimes. He noted a noticeable decline in such incidents, attributing it to the intensified efforts of law enforcement. Raza has directed officers to maintain an effective crackdown on criminal elements to ensure justice is served.



The police have also called on citizens to support their efforts by reporting any suspicious activities or objects to the nearest police station or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.”
