Kashmiris Inspired by Pakistan Resolution to Continue Their Struggle for Freedom

Islamabad, On the anniversary of the historic Pakistan Resolution of March 23, 1940, Kashmiris in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) continue to draw inspiration for their freedom struggle from this pivotal moment in South Asian history. The resolution, which laid the groundwork for the creation of Pakistan as a separate homeland for Muslims, is celebrated for altering the course of history not only in India but also leaving an indelible mark on global history.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a report released today emphasized the significance of March 23, 1940, in modern South Asia’s history, highlighting Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s pivotal role in formally demanding a separate country for Muslims, based on the concept of Muslim nationhood. The report underscores the resolution’s rejection of a united India, galvanizing Muslims under the banner of the All India Muslim League to fight for their freedom.

The report further stated that the conditions faced by Muslims in India and the prevailing attitudes of the Hindu majority towards them are a testament to the importance of the Pakistan Resolution. It is identified as the driving force behind the Kashmir freedom struggle, with Kashmiris regarding Pakistan and its defense forces as their protectors.

Quaid-e-Azam’s description of Kashmir as the “Jugular Vein” of Pakistan is recalled to emphasize the inseparable bonds of religion, culture, and history that link Kashmiris and Pakistanis. The report argues that Kashmir remains an unfinished agenda of the sub-continent’s partition, asserting that Pakistan and Kashmir are incomplete without each other.

Despite facing threats and oppression, the people of IIOJK continue to celebrate Pakistan’s national days and express their desire to join Pakistan through slogans like ‘Kashmir Baney Ga Pakistan’. The report insists that the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle is inherently linked to the Pakistan Movement, reinforcing the belief that a strong and stable Pakistan is crucial for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

In light of the current political climate under Narendra Modi’s government and its actions in IIOJK since August 5, 2019, the report reiterates the relevance of the Two-Nation Theory, highlighting the persecution faced by Muslims across India and IIOJK. It concludes with a call to action, emphasizing that Kashmir is destined to become part of Pakistan, and the struggle for freedom, inspired by the historic resolution of March 23, 1940, will continue until that goal is achieved.
