Brussels, Chairman of Kashmir Council EU, Ali Raza Syed, has announced that the organization has actively highlighted the issue of Kashmir, particularly the human rights of oppressed Kashmiris, during the recent European Parliament election campaign.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Ali Raza Syed stated in Brussels that during the election campaign, they met with leaders of various political parties, important European personalities, and candidates participating in the elections. They informed them about the background of the Kashmir issue and the current situation in occupied Kashmir.
Syed explained that they informed various European circles and potential members of the European Parliament that the Kashmir problem is a globally recognized issue pending on the United Nations agenda for over seven decades. He added that the current situation in occupied Kashmir is dire, with India deploying around one million troops who are oppressing the people using black laws.
The Chairman of Kashmir Council EU expressed hope that the new European Parliament will understand the rights of Kashmiris and play a role in stopping the violation of their rights. He noted that humanitarian circles in Europe do not ignore human rights issues and will highlight the rights of the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir to the newly elected European parliamentarians who have humanitarian sympathy.
Syed demanded that Kashmiris should get their rights, injustices should end, and a plebiscite should be conducted in the whole of Jammu and Kashmir in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations under international supervision, so that Kashmiris can live a peaceful and prosperous life by deciding their own political future in a free atmosphere.
