Karachi: Karachi Zoo announced the birth of three lion cubs from a pair of African lions, marking a significant addition to its attractions. The cubs, along with their mother, are in good health and are currently staying in a specially designed enclosure to ensure their safety. The zoo plans to introduce the cubs to the public in regular enclosures after eight weeks, allowing visitors a closer look.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab emphasized the ongoing enhancements at the zoo, including the introduction of new animal species and improvements to visitor facilities. Recent additions include a Fun land area, an electric train for tours, and the restoration of the historical Mughal Garden. The Mayor expressed his commitment to making the zoo a comprehensive recreational space for families, researchers, and students, with specialized provisions to support educational activities related to wildlife. He has directed Iqbal Nawaz, the Senior Director of Recreation, to closely monitor the health and diet of the new lion cubs.
