Karachi Prepares to Honor Fallen Officers on Police Martyrs Day


Karachi: In anticipation of Police Martyrs Day, IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon chaired a comprehensive review meeting on July 4, 2024, to finalize the arrangements for the upcoming ceremonies dedicated to recognizing the sacrifices of fallen police officers.



According to Sindh Police, the meeting, held at the Central Police Office in Karachi, brought together a wide array of high-ranking officials, including Additional IGs and DIGs across various departments such as Finance, Welfare, Operations, Traffic, and Crime Investigation. Some participants joined via video link, including those from Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Larkana, and Sukkur.



The DIG Headquarters provided an extensive briefing on the organizational efforts and the setup for the provincial-level ceremonies slated for August 4, which is observed nationally as Police Martyrs Day. Committees consisting of senior officers have been established, tasked with ensuring meticulous planning and execution of the events.



IG Memon emphasized the importance of making the day memorable and dignified for the families of the martyrs. He instructed that every effort should be made to ensure quality arrangements and a grand welcome for the families attending the ceremonies. Furthermore, special attention is to be given to inviting and facilitating the heirs and close relatives of the martyrs, ensuring their participation is well-coordinated and respected.



Memon highlighted that Police Martyrs Day serves not only as a tribute to the fallen heroes but also as a reminder of their bravery, courage, and the profound impact of their sacrifice on the nation and their communities. The day is a crucial moment to reflect on the values these officers upheld and to reaffirm the commitment to those ideals.
