KARACHI: Karamullah Waqasi, spokesperson for the Mayor of Karachi and Parliamentary Leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, announced that the city administration has intensified efforts to improve civic amenities, rehabilitate major roads, and address several issues facing Karachi.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, measures have been accelerated to tackle the proliferation of unauthorized advertising materials and wires, as well as to combat narcotics use in various city areas. The City Wardens Department is actively conducting operations in regions including South, Napier Road, and District Central, following citizen complaints regarding unauthorized advertisements and non-compliance with tax regulations.

To enhance the efficacy of these operations, a special task force under the supervision of Deputy Directors will be established, as stated by Parliamentary Leader Karamullah Waqasi. This task force will focus on coordinating monitoring and enforcement activities across Karachi.

In addition to these efforts, development activities are ongoing, with specific focus on monitoring and maintaining the quality of road infrastructure under the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s jurisdiction. Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has directed continuous oversight of these roads to ensure improved travel conditions for citizens.

Repair work has been completed on M.A. Jinnah Road near Light House, and significant improvements are evident in the central area of Saddar following road rehabilitation. Roads surrounding Kamal Ataturk Road and the Sindh Secretariat have been fully restored and are now accessible to the public.

According to Karachi Mayor’s spokesperson Karamullah Waqasi, attention has also been directed towards the affected areas of Shahrah-e-Quaideen. The ongoing initiatives aim to offer residents a safer, more pleasant environment with essential civic facilities.

The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s actions have fostered optimism for further improvements in the city’s road conditions and civic infrastructure, with plans to expand operations against unauthorized activities throughout Karachi.
