Karachi: Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, has inaugurated a new 1,800-meter dual carriageway from Khawaja Ajmer Nagri Chowrangi to the Dedex Factory on Manghopir Road, a project completed at a cost exceeding Rs. 412 million. The initiative aims to enhance traffic flow and improve municipal services in the area.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the ceremony was attended by Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad, KMC City Council members, elected representatives, and numerous local residents. Mayor Wahab highlighted ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, roads, and essential civic facilities across Karachi. The dual carriageway features modern roads, a central median, efficient drainage, and street lighting to facilitate safer and more comfortable travel for citizens.

In addition to the road project, Mayor Wahab announced the completion of a significant water supply line rehabilitation effort, costing Rs. 86.895 million. This project involved the installation of T-connections, removal of illegal water connections, and the laying of new supply lines to improve water distribution in the area.

The Mayor reiterated the commitment to Karachi’s development under the Pakistan Peoples Party’s manifesto, emphasizing the importance of delivering on promises made to the public. With continuous efforts to resolve civic issues, Mayor Wahab expressed confidence in the city’s ongoing progress, urging public support for development initiatives to further modernize Karachi.
