Karachi Mayor Prioritizes Timely Completion of Development Projects

KARACHI: The spokesperson for the Mayor of Karachi, Karamullah Waqasi, reaffirmed the city’s commitment to efficiently delivering essential civic services and completing development projects on schedule, emphasizing the focus on water and sewerage solutions. Waqasi, representing the Pakistan People’s Party in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, highlighted the ongoing efforts to address public issues in Baldia Town and other areas of Karachi.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the statements were made during a high-level review meeting led by Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab at the headquarters of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC). The meeting addressed civic challenges in Baldia Town, including water supply, sewerage management, and ongoing development projects. Participants, including Union Committees’ Chairmen and senior KWSC officials, reviewed development progress and service delivery initiatives.

The meeting also involved separate discussions between Waqasi, Union Committees’ Chairmen, and KWSC Executive Engineers. These discussions centered on the civic issues faced by residents, with detailed briefings on water supply and sewerage infrastructure. Officials reported on project progress and discussed measures to expedite completion.

Waqasi stressed the importance of monitoring development projects to ensure adherence to timelines and responsiveness to civic complaints. He reiterated the Pakistan Peoples Party’s commitment to Karachi’s development and the provision of quality municipal services. Under Mayor Wahab’s leadership, the city aims for transparent governance and sustainable infrastructure development to transform Karachi into a well-planned metropolitan city.
