Karachi Mayor Distributes Heavy Vehicles to Boost KMC Operations

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, officially handed over newly acquired heavy vehicles to different departments within the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC). This move is intended to bolster operational capacities and enhance the quality of municipal services delivered to the residents of Karachi.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the distribution included two articulated boom lift vehicles for the Electrical and Mechanical Department and a truck for the Anti-Encroachment Department. The handover ceremony was attended by Municipal Commissioner KMC Abrar Jaffer, Financial Advisor Gulzar Ali Abro, and other officials.

During the event, Mayor Wahab highlighted the importance of modern machinery in strengthening urban management and improving municipal services. He noted that these new additions to the KMC fleet would improve departmental efficiency and enable quicker and more effective service delivery to the community.

Mayor Wahab also addressed the Corporation’s continuous efforts to utilize its resources and development budget efficiently. He mentioned that due to prudent financial management, KMC’s revenue has seen an upturn, allowing for better allocation of resources towards public welfare and urban issue resolution.

He further stated that promoting institutional self-reliance through resource utilization has led to notable improvements in departmental performance. The newly acquired vehicles, he added, would enhance the technical operations of the Electrical and Mechanical Department and improve the effectiveness of the Anti-Encroachment Department’s enforcement activities.

Mayor Wahab reiterated that these advancements reflect the Corporation’s dedication to providing superior municipal services to the citizens of Karachi.
