Karachi: Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, the Minister for Maritime Affairs, has announced a reduction in storage charges at Karachi Port Trust (KPT) terminals, with waivers between 25 to 50 percent. This measure aims to assist exporters by easing the financial burdens associated with storage.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister highlighted the need for maritime institutions to become more facilitative and trade-friendly. He emphasized that operational delays should not result in unnecessary expenses for stakeholders. The Minister also called for improved coordination between ports and terminals to ensure smoother logistics and enhanced service delivery.
