Jammu University Students Protest for Better Campus Facilities

Jammu, Students at Jammu University organized a day-long protest to voice their demands for improved campus facilities, including access to the library, free WiFi, better transportation options, and increased hostel capacity. The demonstration led to significant disruptions, including the relocation of scheduled exams.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest, led by student Parteek Raina, effectively blocked the main library’s entry and exit points, disrupting the B Sc Nursing examination initially planned to be held there. In response to the protest, university authorities were compelled to move the exam centers to the JU Law School and other alternative locations on campus.

The students, who protested until 4 pm, expressed frustration over the university administration’s lack of response to their repeated requests for better services and infrastructure. They highlighted that their ongoing issues had not been addressed, leading to this direct action to force the university’s hand.
