Israel Martyrs 24 in Gaza: Hamas Agrees to New Truce Proposal

Gaza: Hamas has accepted a new ceasefire plan proposed by Egypt and Qatar, amidst ongoing Israeli airstrikes and a ground assault on Rafah in southern Gaza. The latest attacks have resulted in the deaths of 24 people, according to reports.

Hamas Chief Khalil Al-Hayya announced in a televised speech that his organization received the proposal from the mediators in Egypt and Qatar and agreed to its terms. The ceasefire proposal includes a transitional phase and suggests that Hamas release five Israeli hostages each week.

Security sources informed Reuters that Egypt had received positive signals from Israel regarding the ceasefire proposal. The Israeli Prime Minister’s office stated that a series of consultations had been conducted based on the proposal, and a counter-proposal was conveyed to the mediators with coordination from the United States.

Gaza’s Health Ministry reports that at least 50,277 Palestinians have been confirmed dead, and 114,095 have been injured in the ongoing conflict. The Gaza Government Media office updated the death toll to over 61,700, indicating that thousands more Palestinians are presumed dead beneath the rubble.
