Islamabad: The Islamabad Traffic Police has announced a detailed traffic plan to ensure smooth vehicular movement during Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr. Spearheaded by Chief Traffic Officer Capt. (R) Hamzah Humayun, the initiative aims to provide maximum travel facilities to citizens while maintaining an organized traffic system in the city.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, a meeting was held at the traffic headquarters where senior officials, including the SP Traffic, zonal DSPs, and beat inspectors, convened to discuss the implementation of the plan. The strategy, developed under the special directives of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, involves the deployment of 520 officers across major commercial centers, markets, masjids, imambargahs, graveyards, and recreational areas.

Special traffic officers will be stationed at help desks for public guidance, with student volunteers assisting in ensuring adherence to traffic regulations. The plan also includes a crackdown on drivers engaged in one-wheeling and reckless behavior during the festive days. Recent enforcement measures during Ramadan resulted in legal action against 80 drivers for one-wheeling and 30 for drifting.

CTO Humayun will personally oversee these arrangements and has urged citizens to use designated parking areas and cooperate with traffic authorities.
