ISLAMABAD: In an effort to alleviate traffic congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement around the city’s weekly bazaars, the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has introduced a series of measures. This initiative follows directives from the Chief Traffic Police Officer, Muhammad Sarfraz Virk, aimed at safeguarding citizens from traffic disruptions and maintaining an orderly traffic system.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, senior traffic officers recently conducted visits to these bazaars, evaluating the traffic situation and instructing officers on duty to execute their responsibilities diligently. The measures include deploying traffic police personnel at all strategic points, including entry and exit points, parking areas, and other key locations, to prevent any traffic disorder or obstruction.
Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Sarfraz Virk has urged citizens to utilize designated parking areas to avoid impeding traffic flow. He warned that violations would result in legal actions, including fines. Emphasizing the importance of compliance with traffic laws, Virk stated that the ITP remains committed to the safety and discipline of citizens, and ensuring smooth traffic flow is a top priority of the Islamabad Police.
