Islamabad to Become Pakistan’s First Plastic-Free City, Says Minister

Islamabad: Islamabad is set to become Pakistan’s first city to eliminate plastic, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry announced during a meeting with local business leaders. The initiative aims to reduce environmental pollution and enhance the capital’s aesthetic appeal.

According to Radio Pakistan, Chaudhry spoke to representatives from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Traders Association. He emphasized the need for citizens to transition from plastic bags to environmentally friendly alternatives as part of the Plastic-Free Islamabad campaign. Chaudhry asserted that the success of this initiative hinges on the active participation and feedback from both the business community and residents.
