ISLAMABAD: Director General Safe City and DIG Traffic Islamabad Muhammad Haroon Joya chaired a pivotal meeting at the Safe City Headquarters to assess the modernization of the Islamabad Police telecommunication system. Officers from both the Safe City Technical Team and the Telecommunication Team participated in the discussions.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting involved a thorough review of the current telecommunication system, with discussions focusing on aligning it with modern technological needs. Key decisions included the establishment of a high-speed data link to facilitate seamless communication between the Safe City camera network, Traffic Police, and field units. Additionally, an integrated Command and Control Network will be developed to connect all operational units on a unified platform, enhancing coordination within the force.

During the meeting, Muhammad Haroon Joya emphasized that upgrading the telecommunication system is crucial for fulfilling modern policing demands. He noted that the advanced communication network would improve internal coordination, information sharing, and operational efficiency. This upgrade aims to enable the timely exchange of information related to emergencies, accidents, and traffic flow, ensuring faster and more effective responses.

He also highlighted that the modernization of telecommunication infrastructure would improve the overall performance of Islamabad Police, strengthen unit coordination, and enhance the delivery of policing services to citizens. Haroon Joya reaffirmed the police’s commitment to leveraging modern technology to build a more professional, efficient, and citizen-focused police force.
