Islamabad Police Step Up Security for Muharram with Field Inspections by IGP and Senior Officers

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have intensified security measures for Muharram, with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi leading field visits to ensure the safety of religious gatherings and processions.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, IGP Rizvi, accompanied by senior officers, conducted inspections at Imambargahs in Sector G-9 and Shah Allah Ditta. The purpose of the visits was to assess the security arrangements, which include personnel deployment, monitoring systems, and entry and exit protocols. The police chief emphasized the use of Safe City cameras and modern technology to enhance security measures.

Senior officers also visited key Imambargahs and procession routes, such as Imambargah Sain Boota Darbar, to oversee security plans. They instructed officers to remain vigilant and maintain order during the events. The security plan covers the procession routes, surveillance systems, and emergency responses.

Additionally, the police reviewed traffic management strategies to ensure smooth flow and public convenience. Officers received briefings on the security plan and were tasked with providing alternative routes for citizens. The IGP stated that all divisions of Islamabad Police are actively working to ensure the safety and security of the community during Muharram.
