ISLAMABAD: In an effort to curb crime and target criminal elements, the Islamabad Police have conducted extensive search and combing operations across various areas of the federal capital. The operations, ordered by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, resulted in the thorough checking of over 881 individuals, along with numerous households, hotels, shops, motorcycles, and vehicles.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, these operations were carried out under the supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza and were closely monitored by the respective zonal SPs. The efforts led to the verification of 422 households, 35 hotels, 54 shops, 326 motorcycles, and 116 vehicles.
The search efforts also resulted in three Afghan nationals, 39 suspicious individuals, and 31 motorcycles being taken to the police station for further verification. Arrests were made in cases of drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons, with 130 grams of ice and a pistol with ammunition seized from suspects.
SSP Operations Islamabad emphasized that the objective of these operations is to tighten the noose around criminal elements and enhance security citywide. The police remain committed to taking indiscriminate action against crime, including targeting land grabbers and drug dealers, as part of their ongoing efforts across the district.
