ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police has ramped up search and combing operations across various parts of the city, resulting in the checking of more than 402 individuals, in an effort to reduce crime and target criminal activities within the federal capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, these operations were conducted following special directives from Inspector General of Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The operations were supervised by SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, with oversight from zonal SPs. The extensive searches included 200 households, 101 shops, 25 hotels, 196 motorcycles, and 65 vehicles. Authorities moved 17 suspicious individuals and 34 motorcycles to police stations for further verification.

Additionally, individuals found in possession of illegal weapons were detained, and two pistols along with ammunition were seized. SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza emphasized that the aim of these operations is to crack down on criminal elements and bolster security across the city. The police department has reiterated its commitment to taking decisive action against criminal activities, including targeting land grabbers and drug dealers, in various districts of Islamabad.
