ISLAMABAD: Following directives from the Inspector General of Police, Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, large-scale search and combing operations have been initiated to address criminal activities and bolster the security of the federal capital.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, these operations were conducted under the supervision of zonal SPs across multiple police station jurisdictions. The operations involved the thorough checking of 743 individuals, 307 houses, 95 shops, 46 hotels, 272 motorcycles, and 96 vehicles. During the actions, three Afghan nationals, 36 suspicious persons, and 18 motorcycles were taken to police stations for further legal proceedings. Additionally, an individual was arrested for possessing illegal weapons, with one pistol and ammunition recovered.
SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, stated that these initiatives aim to reinforce the security framework around criminal elements in the city. He reaffirmed the commitment of Islamabad Police to continue taking indiscriminate action against criminals, land grabbers, and drug traffickers. Raza also appealed to citizens to cooperate with the police and to report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15”.
