ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Police have intensified security arrangements for Chinese nationals and projects related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in the federal capital, following a significant meeting between DIG Security Islamabad Rana Umar Farooq and SSP Special Protection Unit (SPU) Arsalan Shahzaib.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the meeting entailed a comprehensive briefing on the current security measures in place for Chinese citizens residing in Islamabad, as well as various Chinese-led projects and CPEC initiatives. SSP Arsalan Shahzaib outlined the special security strategies, which include deployment plans, route security, monitoring of critical installations, emergency response protocols, and arrangements at sensitive sites.

The briefing also covered the integration of modern technology, security surveillance, and the coordination efforts with relevant departments to ensure robust security protocols. During the meeting, DIG Security emphasized the need for Islamabad Police to fully utilize available resources to safeguard foreign nationals, especially Chinese citizens. He stressed the importance of enhancing existing security measures to align with modern requirements and effectively mitigate any potential threats.

Further directives included improving the professional capacity of security personnel, enhancing the monitoring of sensitive locations, and ensuring strict adherence to security protocols. DIG Security reiterated that the protection of Chinese nationals and key development projects remains a top priority for the Islamabad Police.
