Islamabad Police Detain 13, Seize Drugs and Weapons in Citywide Operations

Islamabad, In a significant crackdown on criminal activity, the Islamabad Capital Police arrested 13 individuals, including three professional beggars, and confiscated various drugs and weapons. This operation aligns with ongoing efforts to purge the city of unlawful elements and ensure public safety.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests and seizures took place over the past 24 hours, reflecting a concerted campaign to target criminal behavior across different city sectors. This initiative is a direct response to instructions from Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy toward crime in the capital.

The operation’s specifics reveal the arrest of individuals for various offenses: Javed Masih was caught with 10 liters of illicit liquor, Muhammad Arif with 1,210 grams of heroin, and others for crimes ranging from illegal fuel sales to unauthorized possession of firearms. Among the recovered items were a 9mm pistol and multiple 30 bore pistols, highlighting the diverse nature of criminal activity targeted in the operation.

The law enforcement’s proactive stance extended to combating the issue of professional begging, leading to the arrest of three individuals under applicable legal provisions. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to address different facets of crime that affect the city’s well-being.
