ISLAMABAD: In a concerted effort to address crime and criminal activities, the Islamabad Police have ramped up search and combing operations throughout the capital, resulting in the inspection of over 275 individuals, officials said.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operations were executed following special directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The initiative was carried out under the supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, and monitored by zonal SPs.

The search operations led to checks on 158 households, 29 shops, four hotels, 175 motorcycles, and 32 vehicles. Five individuals deemed suspicious, along with two motorcycles, were taken to a police station for further verification. SSP Operations Islamabad stated that these efforts aim to intensify measures against criminal elements and improve security in the city.

The operations are part of an ongoing strategy to target criminal elements, including land grabbers and drug dealers, across various districts. The police have urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to local authorities or via the “Pucaar-15” emergency helpline.
