Islamabad Police Conducts Citywide Operations, 492 Individuals Checked

ISLAMABAD: A comprehensive citywide search operation was carried out by the Islamabad Police, resulting in the scrutiny of 492 individuals as part of an initiative to curb crime in the federal capital. The operations, executed under the directives of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aim to crack down on criminal activities within the city.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the extensive search and combing operations were led by SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza, with oversight from respective zonal SPs. The operations encompassed the thorough examination of 213 households, 60 hotels, 49 shops, and 188 motorcycles. Additionally, three Afghan nationals, 25 suspicious individuals, and 21 motorcycles were taken to the police station for further verification.

Authorities also reported the arrest of individuals found with illegal weapons, seizing two rifles and accompanying ammunition. SSP Operations emphasized the goal of these operations is to tighten control over criminal activities and bolster security throughout the city. The police maintain that such actions are ongoing across the district to address issues involving criminal elements, land grabbers, and drug dealers.
