ISLAMABAD: In a major crackdown on criminal activities, Islamabad Police have arrested 61 suspects and seized a significant quantity of drugs and firearms. According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests were made by police teams from Karachi Company, Ramna, Shalimar, Sumbal, Tarnol, Sangjani, Sabzi Mandi, Khana, Bahrakahu, Shehzad Town, and Bani Gala. The police recovered five kilograms of hashish, 3,600 grams of heroin, 2,608 grams of ice, 37 bottles of liquor, a Kalashnikov, and four pistols along with ammunition.

Cases have been registered against those apprehended, and further investigations are underway. The operation was part of a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, resulting in the arrest of 40 additional criminals. Following directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the police are intensifying efforts to combat crime and ensure security in the federal capital.

SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, emphasized the police force’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents, maintaining that no individuals will be allowed to undermine public peace. Residents have been encouraged to report any suspicious activities to local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” thereby fostering a cooperative approach to eradicating crime.
