ISLAMABAD: In a significant move to curb criminal activities and enhance public safety, the Islamabad Police have successfully arrested 46 individuals involved in various criminal offenses. The operation, which led to the seizure of drugs and firearms, underscores the police’s ongoing efforts to maintain peace and order in the federal capital.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, teams from the Margalla, Sumbal, and Lohi Bher police stations apprehended five individuals who were allegedly involved in different criminal acts. The police recovered 1,220 grams of hashish, 315 grams of heroin, and three pistols with ammunition from the suspects. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and investigations are underway to gather further evidence against the accused.
In addition to these arrests, a special campaign focusing on the apprehension of proclaimed offenders and absconders resulted in the detention of 41 more suspects. This initiative aligns with the directives of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who has emphasized the importance of a robust crackdown on crime to ensure the safety and tranquility of the capital.
SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reiterated the police’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens, stating that no one will be allowed to compromise public peace. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to their local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” fostering a collaborative effort between the police and the community to eliminate crime from society.
