Islamabad Police Arrests 24 Suspected Criminals, Recovers Drugs and Weapons


ISLAMABAD: In a significant crackdown, Islamabad Police have arrested 24 individuals suspected of involvement in various criminal activities, with a substantial amount of drugs and weapons seized in the operation. The arrests are part of a broader initiative aimed at enhancing security in the capital.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation led to the apprehension of 22 individuals linked to criminal activities, resulting in the confiscation of 590 grams of hashish, 3687 grams of heroin, 1653 grams of ice, 91 bottles of liquor, a Kalashnikov, two guns, and three pistols with ammunition. Legal cases have been filed against those detained, and investigations are currently underway to gather more information.



In addition to these arrests, two proclaimed offenders were captured during a special campaign targeting fugitives. The initiative follows directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, emphasizing the need for an effective crackdown on crime to maintain peace and order in the city.



SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reiterated the police force’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents, stating that no disruptive elements would be tolerated. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to police stations or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to foster collaboration between the police and the community in eradicating crime.
