ISLAMABAD: In a significant operation aimed at curbing criminal activity, the Islamabad Police have arrested 18 individuals involved in a range of criminal offenses, recovering weapons and drugs in the process. The arrests follow a directive by Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to enhance efforts against crime in the capital.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the law enforcement teams detained eight suspects connected to various criminal activities, confiscating eight pistols, a rifle with ammunition, and a knife. Legal proceedings have been initiated against these individuals, and investigations are ongoing. In addition, a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders resulted in the apprehension of 10 more individuals.
SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the commitment of the Islamabad Police to safeguard the lives and property of residents, reiterating that maintaining peace and public safety is their primary concern. He urged citizens to report suspicious activities through the police helpline “Pucar-15,” stressing the importance of community cooperation in eradicating crime.
