ISLAMABAD: In a concerted effort to combat crime, the Islamabad Police have apprehended 103 suspects over a two-day period, recovering significant quantities of drugs and weapons. This operation is part of an ongoing initiative to maintain public safety and order in the federal capital.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, police teams arrested 29 individuals linked to various criminal activities. These teams seized three kilograms of hashish, three kilograms of heroin, 1,450 grams of Ice, 15 bottles of liquor, nine pistols, and one rifle with ammunition. Legal proceedings have commenced against the detainees, with further investigations underway.
In a parallel campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, police units detained 74 additional suspects. These actions are in line with directives from IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, emphasizing a robust crackdown against criminal elements to preserve peace in the city.
SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reiterated the police’s dedication to safeguarding the community. He emphasized that maintaining peace and protecting the public are the police’s top priorities. The police encourage citizens to promptly report any suspicious activities via local stations or the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to facilitate cooperative efforts in eradicating crime.
