ISLAMABAD: Two wanted members of a notorious snatcher gang were arrested by the Islamabad Police Bani Gala team, who utilized technical and human resources in their operation. The arrests mark a significant step in efforts to combat bike lifting and snatching activities in the area.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation led to the recovery of several stolen motorbikes, cash, mobile phones, and weapons from the possession of the apprehended individuals. Cases had already been registered against the suspects, and further investigation is ongoing.
DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq emphasized the commitment to tackling motorcycle theft and street robbery within the city. He noted that recent operations have resulted in a decline in such incidents in the federal capital. Tariq urged officers to continue their crackdown on criminal elements and stressed the importance of bringing offenders to justice.
In a public appeal, he encouraged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activity to nearby police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.”
