Islamabad: In an extensive operation aimed at curbing criminal activities, Islamabad Police have arrested 72 individuals suspected of various crimes and recovered significant quantities of drugs and weapons. According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests include nine suspects apprehended for criminal activities, with authorities seizing 1,085 grams of hashish, 40 bottles of liquor, one gun, and seven pistols along with ammunition.
The police have registered cases against the accused, and investigations are proceeding. Additionally, a targeted campaign to arrest proclaimed offenders and absconders resulted in the detention of 63 more individuals. This operation aligns with directives from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, as part of the police’s ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in the capital.
Qazi Ali Raza, SSP Operations Islamabad, emphasized the police’s dedication to safeguarding the lives and properties of residents, stating that maintaining public peace is a top priority. He urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” highlighting the importance of collaboration between the police and the community to combat crime effectively.
