Islamabad Police Arrest 39 Suspected Criminals, Seize Drugs and Weapons


ISLAMABAD: In a series of operations aimed at combating crime, the Islamabad Police have arrested 39 individuals suspected of engaging in various criminal activities. The operations also led to the seizure of narcotics and firearms, as police officials intensify their efforts to ensure safety and public order in the city.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the law enforcement teams apprehended 24 suspects allegedly involved in criminal activities. During the operations, police confiscated 2,071 grams of ice, 1,100 grams of hashish, and 19 pistols with accompanying ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the individuals, and investigations are underway.



Furthermore, as part of a special initiative targeting proclaimed offenders and fugitives, police teams successfully detained an additional 15 suspects. These efforts follow directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who has mandated a focused and stringent approach to curbing crime and maintaining peace in the federal capital.



In a statement, SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reinforced the commitment of the police to safeguarding the community, emphasizing that maintaining peace and protecting citizens remains a priority. The public is encouraged to report suspicious activities to local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” highlighting the importance of collaboration between the police and the community in eliminating crime.
