Islamabad Police Arrest 36, Seize Drugs and Weapons

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested 36 individuals involved in criminal activities, seizing a significant quantity of drugs and weapons in an operation targeting crime in the federal capital. The police operation resulted in the recovery of 1,150 grams of heroin, 1,040 grams of Ice, 32 bottles of liquor, seven pistols, and a Kalashnikov along with ammunition.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, cases have been registered against those arrested, and further investigations are ongoing. The arrests come as part of a special campaign aimed at apprehending proclaimed offenders and absconders, leading to the arrest of an additional 20 criminals.

The operation follows directives from IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, emphasizing an effective crackdown on crime to maintain peace in the city. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reiterated the police’s commitment to protecting residents’ lives and property, stating that maintaining peace and safety remains a top priority.

Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activities to their local police station or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to aid in the ongoing efforts to combat crime.
