Islamabad Police Arrest 28 Suspects, Seize Drugs and Weapons


ISLAMABAD: In a series of operations across the city, the Islamabad Police have arrested 28 individuals and seized a significant quantity of drugs and weapons, authorities announced. The operations targeted various areas, including Aabpara, Karachi Company, and several other police precincts, resulting in the apprehension of 16 suspects linked to criminal activities.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, law enforcement officials recovered 2,720 grams of hashish, 350 grams of heroin, 305 grams of methamphetamine, 10 bottles of liquor, and 11 pistols with ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects, and investigations are ongoing. In addition to these arrests, a special campaign aimed at capturing proclaimed offenders and absconders led to the detention of 12 more individuals.



The actions align with directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who has emphasized a rigorous crackdown on crime to maintain peace in the capital. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza reiterated the police force’s commitment to safeguarding residents’ lives and property and urged citizens to report suspicious activities to bolster cooperation between the community and police.
