ISLAMABAD: In a recent operation, the Islamabad Police have apprehended 26 individuals allegedly involved in criminal activities, recovering a significant quantity of drugs and weapons in the process. The operation underscores the ongoing efforts to maintain public order and safety in the capital.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation resulted in the seizure of 530 grams of hashish, 1590 grams of heroin, 341 grams of ice, 10 bottles of liquor, one gun, and five pistols with accompanying ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects, and investigations are underway. In a separate effort aimed at apprehending proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams successfully detained 14 additional suspects.
The actions are part of a broader strategy directed by Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to curb criminal activities and ensure public safety. SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the police force’s dedication to safeguarding the lives and properties of residents, noting that maintaining public peace is of utmost importance.
Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to local authorities or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to foster a collaborative approach between the police and the community in eradicating crime.
