ISLAMABAD: Police in Islamabad have arrested 18 individuals in connection with various criminal activities, recovering substantial quantities of narcotics and weapons in the process. The arrests and seizures are part of an ongoing effort to maintain security in the city.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, 17 individuals were apprehended for their involvement in criminal activities. Law enforcement officials confiscated 1,325 grams of hashish, 1,660 grams of the drug known as ice, 38 bottles of liquor, and four pistols with ammunition. Legal cases have been initiated against the suspects, and investigations are continuing. Additionally, during a targeted operation to apprehend proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams arrested one more suspect.
Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has instructed the police to sustain their rigorous campaign against crime. The law enforcement initiative aims to bolster peace and security in the federal capital.
SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the police force’s commitment to safeguarding residents’ lives and property. He assured that any disruptions to public peace would not be tolerated, reiterating that protecting citizens is a primary objective of the police. The public is encouraged to report suspicious activities to local police stations or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to foster cooperation between the community and law enforcement.
