ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have arrested 17 individuals in connection with various criminal activities, recovering a significant quantity of drugs and weapons, officials said. The operation, part of a broader crackdown on crime, resulted in the seizure of narcotics including ice, heroin, hashish, as well as liquor and firearms, authorities confirmed.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests included 10 suspects apprehended for their involvement in different criminal acts. The police confiscated 225 grams of ice, 782 grams of heroin, 545 grams of hashish, along with 10 bottles of liquor and three pistols with ammunition from these individuals. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and investigations are currently underway.

Additionally, a focused campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and fugitives led to the arrest of seven more criminals. This effort is part of an ongoing strategy directed by Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to maintain law and order in the federal capital.

Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza emphasized the police’s dedication to safeguarding citizens’ lives and properties, highlighting the importance of public cooperation in maintaining peace. Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activities to the police or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to help in the eradication of crime.
