Islamabad: In a significant crackdown on criminal activities, Islamabad Police have arrested 17 individuals involved in various offenses, including bike theft, drug trafficking, and illegal possession of weapons. The operation also led to the recovery of stolen bikes, cash, valuables, and an assortment of weapons with ammunition.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the Aabpara police team made notable arrests, capturing two key members of a bike lifter gang. The suspects, identified as Khurram and Waqas, were found in possession of four stolen motorcycles. Investigations into their activities are continuing.
The operation extended across multiple jurisdictions, with teams from Sangjani, Aabpara, Noon, Khanna, Koral, Lohi Bher, and Nilore police stations taking action against individuals involved in drug peddling and the illegal possession of weapons. This coordinated effort resulted in the arrest of seven drug dealers and the seizure of over 300 liters of liquor, 1020 grams of hashish, 620 grams of heroin, two 30 bore pistols, one dagger, and an iron punch.
Additionally, five individuals wanted for various crimes were apprehended during the last 24 hours, further underscoring the police’s commitment to law enforcement.
Inspector General of Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, emphasized the police’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of Islamabad’s residents. He affirmed that maintaining public peace and protecting citizens’ lives, property, and dignity are of utmost priority for the Islamabad Police.
The police have also encouraged citizens to play their part in maintaining security by reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the emergency helpline “Pukar-15” and the “ICT 15” mobile app. This initiative aims to foster a collaborative environment between the public and law enforcement to achieve a crime-free city.
