Islamabad Police Apprehend Snatcher Gang Members, Recover Stolen Goods and Weapons

ISLAMABAD: Two members of a notorious snatcher gang were arrested by the Islamabad Police’s Industrial Area police station team, marking a significant step in the ongoing crackdown on street crime in the federal capital. The arrests led to the recovery of looted cash, mobile phones, and weapons with ammunition, all allegedly used in various criminal activities. Cases had already been registered against the apprehended individuals, and further investigation is in progress.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests are part of a broader initiative initiated under the directives of DIG Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, aimed at curbing robberies, street crimes, and other serious offenses in the city. This large-scale operation has reportedly led to a decrease in serious crime rates in the area.

DIG Islamabad has instructed all officers to persist in their efforts against criminal elements to ensure the safety and security of citizens. The operations are part of a sustained effort to dismantle criminal networks and reinforce public safety in Islamabad.
