Islamabad Police Apprehend 17 Suspected Criminals and Seize Drugs and Weapons


ISLAMABAD: In a series of operations aimed at curbing criminal activities within the city, the Islamabad Police have apprehended 17 individuals suspected of engaging in various illegal activities. The arrests resulted in the recovery of drugs and firearms, marking a significant step in the ongoing efforts to maintain law and order in the federal capital.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, seven individuals were detained for their alleged involvement in different criminal activities. During these operations, police recovered 410 grams of hashish, 220 grams of ice, and a cache of weapons, including one gun and three pistols with ammunition. The authorities have filed cases against the suspects, and investigations are currently underway.



In addition to these arrests, a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders led to the capture of 10 more individuals. These efforts are part of a broader initiative directed by Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who has emphasized a rigorous crackdown on criminal elements to ensure peace and security in the region.



SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza stated the police force’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of the city’s residents. The Islamabad Police have called on citizens to report any suspicious activities to local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” highlighting the importance of community cooperation in combating crime.
