Islamabad: The Islamabad Police, following directives from Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has ramped up security measures across the city for Friday prayer congregations and Youm-e-Quds processions, deploying over 3,500 officers and personnel to ensure public safety.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, these enhanced security arrangements include strict measures around masjids and Imambargahs, notably the Faisal Masjid, with active police patrolling and special checkpoints established at various city locations. In a review of the security preparations, IGP Rizvi and senior officers met with on-duty police personnel, emphasizing vigilance and dedication in their roles.
The IGP highlighted the importance of security checks at the city’s entry and exit points to safeguard citizens’ lives and property. He urged residents to cooperate with police and report any suspicious activities via the helpline “Pucar 15.”
