Islamabad Hosts Provincial Consultation on National Action Plan for Business and Human Rights

Islamabad: A crucial consultation on the implementation of the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAP-BHR) for the period 2021-2026 took place in Islamabad, marking a significant step toward enhancing human rights standards within business practices across Pakistan. The event, held at Faletti’s Hotel, brought together government officials and private sector representatives to discuss the progress and future strategies under the NAP-BHR.

According to Ministry of Human Rights, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Pakistan, the consultation focused on key initiatives such as the proposal to establish a Provincial Steering Committee to oversee the plan’s implementation. Participants also reviewed the Human Rights Due Diligence Framework, which has been adopted by both the Inter-Ministerial and Inter-Provincial Steering Committees. The discussions aimed at ensuring comprehensive and effective implementation of the framework across various stakeholders, with a shared commitment to uphold and integrate human rights within business operations.
